Go RVing at These Gulf Coast Campgrounds

Take an RV trip to these campgrounds along the Gulf Coast.

The Gulf Coast is a popular vacation destination any time of year, but particularly in summer, when waterfront RV resorts from South Padre and Galveston islands in Texas to the white sand beaches of Florida and Alabama beckon families from the eastern half of the country. Here’s a sampling of waterfront and beachfront RV resorts that are about as close as one can camp along the Gulf Coast:

  • Camping on the Gulf in Miramar Beach: This 215-site campground is right next to the white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast and has several RV sites right on the beach. Park amenities include swimming pools, a water slide and hot tub.
  • Carrabelle Beach RV Resort in Carrabelle Beach: This resort is just across the street from Carrabelle Beach. Amenities include a swimming pool, dog run and a fish cleaning station.
  • Coastline RV Resort in Eastpoint: This 108-site park has an onsite restaurant and access to a 100-foot fishing pier on the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Destin RV Resort in Miramar Beach: This resort is across the street from Miramar Beach. Resort amenities include a heated swimming pool, lush tropical landscaping, showers and a general store.
  • Emerald Beach RV Park in Navarre: This campground is located on the Intercoastal Waterway of the Santa Rosa Sound, between Pensacola and Destin. Park amenities include a private white sandy beach with tiki huts available for guest use and a pristine swimming pool. 
  • Navarre Beach Camping Resort in Navarre: This park’s sandy white beach is located on the Santa Rosa Sound with tiki huts and chairs for guests to enjoy sunsets or just playing in the sand. The park has 118 sites. Amenities include a heated swimming pool and hot tub. Children enjoy the playground, bike riding, basketball, horseshoes or shuffleboard.
  • Pensacola Beach RV Resort in Pensacola: This resort overlooks Santa Rosa Sound with waterfront sites that offer plenty of beach access with complimentary chairs and umbrellas. There are also two public access paths that guests can take right to the Gulf of Mexico. Guests at this park are within walking distance of Casino Beach, the gulf pier, the boardwalk, shops, restaurants, and multiple entertainment venues.
  • Perdido Key RV Resort & Marina in Pensacola: This 56-site park also has a marina on the Intercoastal Waterway with 24 deep water boat slip rentals that have full hook-ups to electricity, cable TV, WiFi, plus a boat pump out station.
  • Presnell's Bayside Marina RV Resort in Port St. Joe: This big rig-friendly park has 110 sites, including waterfront sites, as well as a marina. Twenty-foot skiffs and pontoon boats are available for rent as well as kayaks and paddleboards.
  • Santa Rosa RV Resort in Navarre: Located on the Santa Rosa Sound Waterway, this RV resort features 88 RV sites, including 24 waterfront sites. This park also has tropical landscaping, a private beach and watercraft rentals. Amenities include a fenced dog park and a 3,000 square-foot outdoor entertainment area with a fire pit, pool with shade and music.
  • Turtle Beach Campground in Sarasota: This tree-lined campground features 39 beachfront RV and rent sites with full hookups. Turtle Beach Campground is one of only a few campgrounds in Florida with direct beach access. The campground was originally established as a Gulf Beach Campground in 1921 and was acquired by Sarasota County in 2006. The campground is also a quick, free trolley ride away from the white sands of Siesta Beach, previously rated the No. 1 Beach in the U.S. from TripAdvisor and Dr. Beach.

  • Biloxi Bay Resort & Marina in Biloxi: This 62-acre resort is newly designed and built from the ground up for today’s RVers. The resort’s 175 RV sites include big-rig friendly sites and premiere cement sites of over 1,200 square feet. The park is directly across the bay from the Beau Rivage MGM Casino and close to nearly a dozen other casinos and entertainment centers. The park’s marina includes on-site dock with boat slips and water equipment rentals.
  • Blue Water RV Resort in Surfside: Located on the Gulf of Mexico between Surfside Beach and Galveston, this bay and beachfront resort features spacious, big rig-friendly full hookup sites with 30- and 50-amp hook ups at every site. Amenities include a private boat ramp, docks for fishing, golf cart, kayak and paddleboard rentals, an onsite bar and stunning sunrise and sunset views.
  • Jamaica Beach RV Resort in Galveston: This 181-site resort offers quick access to the beach and numerous onsite amenities, including multiple swimming pools and a 700-foot-long lazy river.
  • Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday: This campground complements its beach, boat slips and fishing pier with aqua cycle, kayak, paddleboard and fishing pole rentals.
  • South Padre Island KOA Holiday on South Padre Island: Guests at this campground can launch their boats or kayaks into the Gulf Coast waters at the park’s boat ramps. The park also offers a free shuttle to a number of local destinations, including waterfront restaurants, souvenir shops, the convention center, the beach, and local museums. The shuttle runs daily and travels the length of the Island, or you can take another route that crosses the Queen Isabella Causeway into Port Isabel. All of the shuttles are equipped with a bicycle rack, ADA accessible with wheelchair lifts, and offer complimentary WiFi.
  • Stella Mare Beachfront Resort in Galveston: This resort offers each beach access as well as a 3,000-square-foot observation deck with gulf and bay views, a tiki bar, a heated outdoor pool and splash pad, a multi-activity playground and dog parks.
  • Tropic Island Resort in Port Aransas: This island resort is 1.5 miles from Port Aransas Beach. Onsite amenities include heated, saltwater pools and hot tubs and a dog park.
