Mother's Day Activities at Campgrounds

Thinking of spending Mother's Day on the road? Here are some great campgrounds with Mother's Day-themed activities for the whole family!

Campgrounds in the U.S. increasingly organize special activities for Mother’s Day weekend. Many parks have craft activities that enable kids to prepare a special gift for their moms. Growing numbers of campgrounds also organize wine tasting events or “paint and sip” activities that give moms a chance to show off their artistic talents while enjoying a glass of wine. Many campgrounds also offer moms free pancakes on Sunday morning.

Here’s a sampling of some of the Mother’s Day events planned at campgrounds across the U.S. this spring:

Chocorua Camping Village KOA Holiday in Tamworth, New Hampshire: Mother’s Day weekend guests at this campground will have an opportunity to make a gift for mom. Moms will also enjoy a free pancake breakfast.

Colorado Springs KOA Holiday in Fountain, Colorado: Kids who stay at this park over Mother’s Day weekend can surprise mom with a unique craft. Moms are also treated to free pancakes on Sunday morning. 

Dream Lake Campground in Warsaw, New York: Mother’s Day weekend events at this campground start with a Friday trivia night with Kelli Carson, a Mother’s Day craft on Saturday and a Mother’s Day breakfast with mom’s meals at half price.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA Holiday in Williamsport, Maryland: This park’s Mother’s Day weekend events include a magic show and an opportunity to make mom a gift in the crafts and ceramics room. Moms will also be given a special treat in the diner. There will also be tie-dye t-shirts and train rides. Moms can also enjoy a free movie and popcorn.
 

Hidden Oaks Family Campground in Hammond, Louisiana: Moms are invited to bring their favorite drink and finger foods and join other moms in painting with their imagination. Children will have an opportunity to make mom a gift at craft time.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Eureka, Missouri: Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park include game of “Who’s Mom Is It Anyway?” Guests will also have an opportunity to dress mom up to compete in the toilet paper dress fashion show. There will also be a workshop for moms and kids to learn to play and hula with a pro.

Jellystone Park at Delaware Beaches in Lincoln, Delaware: This park’s Mother’s Day weekend activities include arts and crafts and a moms only “Paint & Sip Night.”

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Larkspur, Colorado: Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park include flower planting, tea and cookies and a mother-child look-alike contest.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Mexico, New York: This park will have its third annual “Sip ’n Paint” event for moms over Mother’s Day weekend. Moms will also receive a special gift upon check-in.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Monticello, Iowa: Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park include making a craft for mom and wine tasting.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Plymouth, Indiana:
This park will celebrate Mother’s Day with a “Pretty in Pink” themed weekend. Activities include pretty in pink Pictionary and a pink outfit competition. Moms will also pick an outdoor movie with popcorn and there will be a DJ dance on Saturday night. Moms will also receive a special gift from Cindy Bear.


Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in South Haven, Michigan: Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park include moms only crafts. There will also be an area for chair massages with the opportunity to enjoy wine and cheese. Guests will also be able to send mom a “Bear Gram” on Sunday. Moms will also receive a special gift upon arrival at the park.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Warrens, Wisconsin: At this park kids can surprise their moms with a unique craft and all moms eat free pancakes on Sunday morning. Even Yogi Bear will have a special gift for mom.

Medina / Wildwood Lake KOA Holiday in Medina, New York: Mother’s Day weekend at this park includes a Mother’s Day themed craft and live musical entertainment. There will also be a free pancake breakfast for moms.
 

Mountain Vista Campground in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania: This park celebrates Mother’s Day weekend with gift making for mom; sweets, treats and champagne; as well as a painting technique class.

New Bern KOA Holiday in New Bern, North Carolina: This park starts Mother’s Day weekend by offering guests a sweet treat on Friday night. Saturday’s activities include craft time to make mom a special gift. On Sunday morning guests can come by the front office to pick up a flower for mom.
 

North Texas Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Burleson, Texas: Guests at this park can serenade mom with a rendition of her favorite song on the park’s Karaoke stage. Kids can also compete in a “Mini Me Dress Like Mom Contest.” Moms can also show what it takes to be an awesome mother during the park’s annual “My Mom Ain’t No Sissy Challenge.” Children will also have an opportunity to make a craft for mom.

Odetah Camping Resort in Bozrah, ConnecticutMother’s Day weekend activities at this park include Friday night bingo, “Muffins with Mom” on Saturday morning, a “Mom and Me” photo session, an adult paint night in which guests can paint with mom, and a movie on the beach under the stars.

Pioneer Campground in Muncy Valley, Pennsylvania: This campground is planning a “craft n’ sip” event for moms, flower gram deliveries, and a Mother’s Day breakfast.

Powder Horn Family Camping Resort in Old Orchard Beach, Maine: This park will celebrate Mother’s Day by offering guests opportunities to make some handprint art and design some do-it-yourself picture frames.

Rustic Acres Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in New Douglas, Illinois:Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park start Friday night when dads take their kids to make giant Mother’s Day posters. Other weekend activities include a game of “Who’s Mom Is It Anyways?” and “The World’s Best Mom Challenge.” There will also be a moms only craft time.

Rustic Knolls Campsites and Cabins in Mt. Vernon, Ohio: This park has several activities planned for Mother’s Day weekend, including Mother’s Day crafts, women’s cornhole, a ladies outing, and a Mother’s Day breakfast.

Salem Farms Campground in Salem, Connecticut:
This campground’s Mother’s Day weekend activities include adults versus kids games, evening ceramics and a Mother’s Day dinner.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in Santee, California: This campground will offer guests an opportunity to make a Mother’s Day craft. A “paint and sip” event will also be featured with guests bringing their own beverages. 

Shelby / Mansfield KOA Resort in Shelby, Ohio: Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park include making a special gift for mom, “mermosas for mom,” a mommy scavenger hunt, an ice cream social, and wine tasting.

Whispering Hills Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Big Prairie, Ohio: Mother’s Day weekend activities at this park include a selfie scavenger hunt, free crafts and mothers only spa and relation time.
