With food, history, art, museums, shopping, architecture, and, of course, music, New Orleans has it all! It’s a cultural feast you won’t find anywhere else in America. There is something for everyone and despite what some might think, New Orleans is a wonderful place to go RVing with kids.

The Eatleys: The Road Home

On the adventure home, we decided to go off the beaten path. That’s one of the things we love most about our RV; we are in no rush to get anywhere and we can stop almost anywhere at any time.

Getting ready to head to the mountain for a fun day of snowboarding. We really loved spending our second winter on the road in the mountains of Colorado. It was cold, but the RV was cozy and there is nothing like gliding down fresh powder with your family!

The Beauty Of Deer Run

The Beauty Of Deer Run

It was a lovely day in the mountains of Tennessee without a cloud in the sky, so we decided to relax for a while in our next campground. The Deer Run RV Resort, nestled next to a 25-acre lake, quickly began to feel like home.

Eating Local On The Road

Eating Local On The Road

Feeding my family fresh healthy food is a priority and traveling by RV, whether for a year or for a weekend, makes it easy. Cooking in the RV allows us to eat healthy for less, spend quality time together, and it’s a great reason to get out and explore some unique local food options. If you want to add a little more adventure to your adventure, try visiting local farms and farmer’s markets on your next RV getaway.

Celebrating The Holidays In The RV

Celebrating The Holidays In The RV

After a busy day exploring Gatlinburg, we wanted to treat the girls to a cozy winter night in the RV, eating dinner and opening a few of their remaining Christmas presents we saved especially for this trip.

After a beautiful drive through the mountains, we arrived at our first stop, the Riveredge RV Park. The park was nice and calm and we were able to pick the perfect RV spot, nestled into the side of the mountain with the Little Pigeon River separating us from the highway.

RVing And New York City

RVing And New York City

Wait! New York City? In an RV? Yes, it’s totally possible. While you won’t find any camping in Manhattan (no camping in Central Park, sorry!) there is camping nearby and with a massive and reliable public transit system spending a few days visiting New York City couldn’t be easier. Not to mention staying in an RV makes visiting America’s largest city (also one of the most expensive cities) more affordable.

Hitting The Road

Hitting The Road with The Eatleys

The bags were packed (complete with a sack full of toys), the RV (not a sleigh) was loaded, and the girls were strapped into their seats, ready for a long winter drive; I was feeling a little like the jolly man in red. It was finally time to hit the road. I love this part of each trip we take as a family. The drive to our destination is my relaxation. Since we are in the RV, I know the rest of the family will be entertained as well.

This Winter, Fall In Love With Sedona, Arizona

Sedona Arizona: Winter Destination

It’s been an especially cold winter so far, and after subzero temperatures in many parts of the U.S., plenty of RVers have decided to head South (or stay South). If you’re looking for a place where you can escape the grip of the “polar vortex” but aren’t quite ready for the summer heat, prepare to fall in love with Sedona, Arizona, often called “a traveler’s oasis in the middle of the desert”.
