Go RVing With Kierra Sheard-Kelly and Jordan Kelly!

Gospel artist, actress, and entrepreneur Kierra Sheard-Kelly recently went on her first RV trip with her husband, Jordan—and they invited us along for the ride! The couple drove to Taylor Beach Campground in Michigan to get out of the norm and tune into what really matters to them.

The Go RVing team works with media outlets across the country to tell the real-life stories of RVers and introduce even more consumers to the RVing lifestyle. One of these authentic stories focuses on gospel artist Kierra Sheard-Kelly and her husband, landscaper Jordan Kelly, as they embark on an RV adventure to Taylor Beach Campground, MI. The original article and video were published on Essence as part of a partnership with Go RVing and can be found HERE.

Spending Quality Time in Nature

For the Kelly family, one of the greatest benefits of RVing is spending time together.

“It’s good to put the phones down and have one-on-one talks, spend that quality time,” says Jordan, adding that RVing is “a good way to get out, just enjoy the sun, and have a good time.”

“It’s out of the norm,” adds Kierra. “It allows you to stay in tune with you and the things that matter.”

Between fishing, hiking, cooking, making s’mores, and decorating the RV, Jordan and Kierra found themselves surprised by just how much they’ve embraced life outdoors. “I didn’t think that an outdoor experience would be so relaxing,” says Kierra.

Planning for Future RV Trips

Kierra and Jordan enjoyed their RV adventure so much that they have expressed interest in a future RV trip with extended family.

“I would love to bring my nieces, nephews, and cousins, and make this a family thing,” says Jordan. “I think all Black families would benefit from coming out here and getting out of the neighborhood.”

Kierra echoed Jordan’s sentiments: “It’s so important to spend time with your loved ones, family, and friends, and enjoy some outdoor activity. I’m having a good time.”

Takeaways from the Campground

  • Prioritize spending time outdoors with loved ones: This is a great way to build deeper relationships with friends and family.
  • Detach from technology: Trading screen time for outdoor experiences is essential for unwinding and truly engaging with the natural world.
  • Keep an open mind: Stepping into the world of RVing often leads to unexpected discoveries and a newfound love for the great outdoors.
