RV Resorts With 9- and 18-Hole Golf Courses

Hit the golf course during your RV travels with this guide by Jeff Crider!

Many of the nation’s RV resorts are located in close proximity to golf courses, but scores of RV parks and resorts also have their own 9- or 18-hole golf courses, particularly in the Sunbelt.

But while some park operators tout the challenging nature of their courses, many RVers simply use golf as a way to socialize, said Amir Harpaz, a co-owner and developer of Torrey Trails RV & Golf Resort in Bowling Green, Fla., which features a 9-hole golf course.

“It’s not an intimidating golf course. You can be a newbie,” Harpaz said. But the course is highly sought after as a social venue, he said. “Most of our guests play two or two-and-a-half hours and end up at the poolside bar. It definitely adds another dimension of fun to the RV resort experience.”

DESERT SOUTHWEST

California

  • Coachella Lakes RV Resort in Coachella: Amenities at this new RV resort include an 18-hole championship putting course as well as heated swimming pools and hot tubs, a 24-hour fitness center, a clubhouse and business center, as well as pickleball courts and a walking path.
     
  • Likely Place Golf & RV Resort in Likely: This northern California resort features an 18-hole, par-72 golf course as well as horseshoe pits and bocce courts and biking and walking trails. Some facilities are only available May to October.
     
  • Motorcoach Country Club in Indio: This resort features nine greens with four sets of tee boxes. Fourteen of the holes require an approach over the park’s waterways and lakes. Total yardage for the course is approximately 1,850 yards. Other amenities include a swimming pool with a water aerobics program as well as pickleball, tennis and bocce courts.
     
  • Rio Bend RV & Golf Resort in El Centro: This 120-acre resort features a 9-hole, par 33 golf course and an 11-acre catch-and-release fishing lake stocked with striped bass and catfish. The resort is surrounded by wetlands and a bird sanctuary with an 80-acre lagoon.
     
  • The Springs at Borrego Golf and RV Resort in Borrego Springs: This park features a David Pfaff-designed, 9-hole championship golf course with a dramatic island green, lakes, water features and frequent sand traps. Other resort amenities include an outdoor salt pool and spa, hot mineral baths, a spacious fitness center, tennis, pickleball and volleyball courts, lawn bowling, horseshoes, as well as catch-and-release fishing ponds and lakes and an outdoor amphitheater for live music concerts and basketball games.

Arizona

  • Gold Canyon Resort in Gold Canyon: This resort complements its 9-hole executive golf course with two swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a batting cage, men’s and coed softball teams, hiking and biking groups, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a 40,000-square foot clubhouse and onsite bar and bistro.

  • Palm Creek Resort and Residences in Casa Grande: A focal point at this resort is its par 3 championship golf course with two lakes and a creek that crosses one of the fairways. Other amenities include swimming pools, pickleball courts, tennis, lawn bowling, a fitness center, multiple dog parks and two restaurants.

  • Pueblo El Mirage RV Resort in El Mirage: This resort features an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course. Other resort amenities include a 40,000-square foot clubhouse, a fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, water volleyball, horseshoes and lawn bowling and an onsite bar and grill.

  • Viewpoint RV & Golf Resort in Mesa: This resort features an 18-hole championship golf course and a 9-hole executive golf course. Other onsite amenities include swimming pools; tennis pickleball and volleyball courts; a restaurant; a fitness center; and ballroom and banquet hall.

  • Westwind RV and Golf Resort in Yuma: This park features a 9-hole, par-3 golf course; an onsite bar and grill; concerts with tribute bands; pickleball; cornhole; volleyball; dance lessons; and a swimming pool and gym.

Oregon

  • Bar Run Golf and RV Resort in Roseburg: In addition to having an 18-hole golf course, this resort can serve as a base camp for day trips to Crater Lake National Park or Coos Bay, along the Pacific Coast. Onsite amenities include a fitness center.

THE UPPER MIDWEST

Michigan

  • Thunder Bay Resort in Hillman: This resort has an 18-hole golf course, an RV resort as well as lodging accommodations and an onsite restaurant. Activities include murder mystery weekends, elk viewing carriage rides, gourmet dinners and wine tastings. The RV resort is open mid-May to mid-October or November, weather permitting.
  • Washakie Golf & RV Resort in North Branch: This resort has an 18-hole, par-72 golf course with an onsite bar and grill for lunch and dinner. Camping season runs May 1 to Oct. 31.

Minnesota

  • Forest Hills Golf & RV Resort in Detroit Lakes: This park has an 18-hole championship golf course as well as a miniature golf course. Other amenities include a swimming pool and hot tub, a fitness center and an onsite bar and grill. The camping season is May 1 to Oct. 1.


THE NORTHEAST

Maine

  • Fogg Brook Resort in Palmyra: This resort features 91 campsites an 18-hole golf course, and an onsite pub that serves burgers, artisan pizzas, sandwiches, salads and 20 craft beers and ciders. Camping is available from May to October.

THE SOUTHEAST

Alabama

  • Quail Creek Golf and RV Resort in Hartselle: This 600-acre resort features a 9-hole golf course as well as opportunities for hiking and fishing. Other amenities include a fitness center, and a conference center with event planning services.

Georgia

Florida

  • Encore Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort in Clerbrook: Amenities at this 1,250-site park include a challenging 18-hole golf course with views of nature preserves and lakes, a clubhouse with a swimming pool and spa, hiking trails and a dog park.
  • Great Outdoors RV & Golf Resort in Titusville: This resort features a par-72, 18-hole golf course, an onsite restaurant, two miles of walking trails, an Olympic-size swimming pool as well as tennis and pickleball courts and numerous organized activities. Catch and release fishing is also available on site.
  • Live Oak RV Resort and Golf Course in Arcadia: This pet friendly park complements its par-3, 9-hole executive golf course with a swimming pool and spa, a fitness center, a large clubhouse and a recreation hall. 
  • The Glades Resort in Moore Haven: Amenities include its own championship 9 hole golf course, an onsite restaurant and its own freshwater marina along the Caloosahatchee River just 14 miles west of Lake Okeechobee, 11 miles west of the Moore Haven lock and 4.5 miles east of the Ortona lock.
  • Madison RV and Golf Resort in Madison: This park opened in June of 2020 with 95 sites. Amenities include a recently renovated 9-hole golf course, golf cart rentals, lighted pickleball courts, a woodshop, and a swimming pool. Catch-and-release fishing is also available onsite.
  • Sanlan RV & Golf Resort in Lakeland: This 500-site resort features three 9-hole golf courses that border the Sanlan Bird and Wildlife Refuge and Banana Lake. Other amenities include heated swimming pools, walking and jogging trails and four recreation halls.
  • Silver Dollar Golf, Trap Club and RV Resort in Odessa: This Tampa area resort features three, 9-hole golf courses, a trap and skeet club, and a dance hall.
  • Silver Lakes RV and Golf Resort in Naples: This park features an executive 9-hole golf course. Other amenities include tennis, pickleball, bocce and shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits and two clubhouses with swimming pools and hot tubs and exercise facilities. 
  • Sun Retreats Ocala Orange Lake in Citra: This park features a 9-hole golf course, an onsite cafe that serves lunch and dinner daily, as well as a swimming pool and pet area.  
  • Torrey Trails RV & Golf Resort in Bowling Green: Amenities at this luxury resort include a 9 hole golf course with mature oak trees; a welcome center; a 65,000-gallon swimming pool; a state-of-the-art fitness center with indoor and outdoor sections; tennis, shuffleboard and pickleball courts; luxurious clubhouse overlooking a lake, an outdoor pavilion and a poolside bar called Pineapple Jack’s.
  • Travelers Resort RV and Golf Resort in Dade City: This park features a 9-hole 34 par golf course, a heated pool and spa, exercise room, wood shop and activities building for art classes and games.

South Carolina

  • Hilton Head National RV Resort in Bluffton: This resort opened in late 2021 with 341 70- by 20-foot sites and upscale amenities, including fiber optic WiFi, over 160 cable TV channels, a resort-style swimming pool and lazy river, an onsite restaurant and 2.1 miles of walking trails, all of which are next door to an 18-hole championship golf course. This resort is the first RV resort developed by Hilton Head National Golf Course owner James McGlothlin.
