Campgrounds and RV resorts across the Southeast are preparing for New Year’s Eve celebrations, ranging from catered dinners and dazzling fireworks displays to polar bear plunges. Here’s an overview of some of the festivities being planned for RVers heading Southeast, in search of warmer weather this winter:

Emberglow Outdoor Resort in Mill Spring, NC: New Year’s Eve activities at this resort include a catered dinner, live music, a s’mores bar, cozy crafts, and a game night by the fire. Resort amenities include a resort-style swimming pool, sand volleyball, and pickleball courts, bicycles, and pedal kart rentals, as well as hiking and biking trails, a Gaga Ball court, and a community fire pit.

Fisherman's Cove RV Resort

Fisherman's Cove RV Resort in Palmetto, FL: Guests at this resort will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a clubhouse party from 7 PM to midnight. At 10 PM, the resort is planning “a lucky balloon drop” that will include balloons stuffed with lottery tickets. New Year’s Day activities include a polar plunge, Florida style, along with poolside entertainment with poker tables and other games. Fisherman’s Cove features RV paver super sites and an expansive array of amenities, including a waterfront pool, fire pit, tiki hut, and BBQ kitchen.

Fishermans Cove is next to Terra Ceia Preserve State Park and can also serve as a base camp for visiting attractions in Tampa Bay, such as the Salvador Dali Museum, the Florida Aquarium, which features over 8,000 aquatic and terrestrial animals, and the Columbia Restaurant, Florida’s oldest continually operating restaurant.

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort (Lake Charles, LA)

Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Lake Charles, LA: This park is planning a New Year’s party with a hot cocoa bar. Amenities include a miniature golf course and a fishing lake.

Margarita Beach Resort

Margarita Beach Resort in Fort Myers Beach, FL: Guests at this resort will celebrate New Year’s Eve with live music from local bands, delicious cocktails, and island-inspired bites before gathering on the beach or the Sunset Terrace to witness a dazzling fireworks display over the gulf. Resort amenities include a 15,000-square-foot heated lagoon-style pool and beachfront playground, as well as pickleball and tennis courts.

Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort

Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort in Lake Toxaway, NC: This resort is planning an exclusive New Year’s Eve dinner and dance with elegant food stations. Guests can sit fireside with a glass of champagne, a signature cocktail, or a glass of wine before dancing the night away. The cost is $80 per person. Resort amenities include two swimming pools and bathhouses, a 9-hole executive golf course, a fitness center, and pickleball courts.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground

Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC: This campground features family-friendly activities throughout New Year’s Eve day, including a fitness walk; an adult miniature golf tournament, photos with a polar bear; a polar bear plunge; and a plunge costume contest. There will also be dancing in the recreational hall from 7 to 9 PM ET, as guests prepare for the “midnight” beach ball drop for early New Year’s Eve revelers. Ocean Lakes complements its beachfront RV and tent sites with more than 300 rental accommodations, including park model RVs. The campground also has an on-site Nature Center Discovery Lab.

Sunshine Village Resort in Webster, FL: New Year’s Eve festivities at this resort include food, games, a live DJ, and dancing. This park is located near I-75 and within one hour of Tampa, Orlando, and Ocala.
