Sunbelt Resorts with Woodshops, Lapidaries, and Craft Areas

Looking to add some hand-on crafts to your RV trip's itinerary? Check out these Sunbelt resort recommendations by Jeff Crider!

RV enthusiasts who spend the winter at RV resorts across the Sunbelt not only get to enjoy some of the best weather in the country, but develop their creative talents in specially equipped craft rooms, wood shops and lapidaries.

“These amenities bring the RV community together, while also providing a fun atmosphere for participants and guests alike,” said Randy “Boomer” Berman, a senior public relations specialist for Equity LifeStyle Properties, which owns and operates RV resorts under the Encore and Thousand Trails brand names.

Equity LifeStyle Properties is one of several companies whose RV resorts feature craft oriented amenities that are specifically designed to appeal to Snowbirds who spend most of the winter at the same park.

“While these hobby-focused amenities vary by resort and compliment the numerous other amenities provided by Encore RV Resorts, many of these amenities are supported by guest-formed clubs whose members help assist, teach and coordinate their individual hobbies,” Berman said.

While many independently owned and operated RV resorts have wood shops, lapidaries and other craft-based amenities, other RV resort networks that are most likely to offer these amenities include RV resorts that are owned and operated by Roberts Resorts, Sun Outdoors and Wilder RV Resorts.
