Got Tickets for the Big Games This Summer? Now It’s Time To Make Your Campground Reservations

RVing is the most affordable way to see the big soccer games in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia this summer. Check out nearby campground accommodations and how those prices compare to Airbnbs, hotels, and more.

The world’s largest soccer tournament is coming to Boston, New York, and Philadelphia (and other cities across the country) and both hotel and Airbnb rates are surging. An analysis by The Athletic revealed that hotel prices are increasing by as much as 300% in some cities, while Airbnb Rates are up by as much as 40%, according to data by AirDNA.

Soccer fans should know there are terrific campground options near all three of the Northeast’s host cities– and prices at those campgrounds are significantly more affordable than hotels and Airbnbs in the same region.

In the New York and New Jersey region, Airbnb guests are spending an average of $149 dollars per person per night for accommodations. So a party of four could be spending approximately almost $600 per night for accommodation. A party of four would spend just $20-$185 per night total (for all four guests) for accommodations at a campground.

If that same party of four chose to stay in a hotel in the New York/New Jersey area, they would almost certainly need to book two hotel rooms and, in most cases, would also need to eat out for all of their meals. Many RVs can comfortably sleep four people and have fully-equipped kitchens, so food costs can be dramatically reduced by bringing your own groceries.

In many scenarios, a hotel stay during one of the big games would be at least quadruple the cost of a stay in an RV at a campground--and that is a conservative estimate. Depending on the choice of hotel and the restaurants chosen for meals, a hotel trip could balloon to 10 times the cost of an RV stay.

And of course, staying at a campground is also more fun for the fans. With room to roam, you could have your own pick-up game before or after heading to the stadium. We don’t recommend trying to do that at a hotel or Airbnb!

Let’s take a quick look at three affordable campground options for each of the Northeast host cities.

Biking past RVs

Boston

Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort is one of the oldest and most beloved RV resorts in the country. They have four pools, two playgrounds, a fitness center, a disc golf course, a huge dog park--and even a meditation garden and labyrinth among other amenities. Whether you want to kick back and relax after the big game or go for a swim and hit the jacuzzi--this resort has it all and a little bit more.

  • Foxborough, MA, 5 miles from the stadium, approximately $190 Per Night

Boston/Cape Cod KOA has wooded campsites with full hookups and plenty of fun activities for the family, including a refurbished pool for 2026 and a jumping pillow, horseshoes, cornhole, and more. Their deluxe patio sites for RVs are spacious and have gorgeous firepits, providing soccer fans with a perfect place to relax after the intensity of an epic match.

  • Middleboro, MA, 29 Miles from the Stadium, approximately $80 Per Night

Spacious Skies Minuteman Campground has spacious and private RV sites with full hookups at great prices. Amenities include a heated pool, a game room for kids, a game room and playground for kids, a dog park, and basketball and volleyball courts. Visitors love the cleanliness of this campground and the friendly staff and quiet, peaceful vibe. This would be a great place to kick back and relax around the campfire after a long day at the stadium.

  • Littleton, MA, 50 Miles from the Stadium, approximately $85 Per Night

New York

Liberty Harbor RV Park does not look or feel anything like a traditional campground since it is in the heart of Jersey City. But it offers a location that is hard to beat for those who want access to New York City via ferry or train, and the local stadiums are just a short drive away. Why not spend one day attending a big soccer match and the next day exploring the Big Apple? You can park your RV close to both of these major attractions and cook dinner at night in the comfort of your own kitchen with your own food at a fraction of the price of local restaurants.

  • Jersey City, NJ, 9.5 Miles to Stadium, Approximately $185 Per Night

Cheesequake State Park has a strict 11-foot height restriction for RVs entering the campground, making this a great option for those with smaller RVs like teardrops, pop-up campers, and smaller travel trailers. Amenities here are limited, but the sites are large and shady, and the price is absolutely terrific--particularly considering its proximity to the city.

  • Old Bridge, New Jersey, 33.4 Miles to Stadium, $20 to $25 Per Night

Family Campground at Turkey Swamp ParkThis thickly wooded campground offers large, private sites that come with water and electric hookups at a bargain price. On-site facilities include clean bathrooms and showers, and a fun playground for kids. You could head north to one of the big soccer games one day and then head east to Jersey shore beaches (like Asbury Park or Belmar) the next day. Either way, plan on cooking dinner back at the RV and relaxing around a campfire at night.

  • Freehold, NJ, 49.7 Miles to Stadium, $40 to $44 Per Night

Philadelphia

Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA is a cute and relaxing campground located just 20 minutes away from Philadelphia. They have a great common area with a pavilion and outdoor games like cornhole and ladder ball, and they also have a playground, a pool, and a jumping pillow. The patio sites near the pond have full hookups, outdoor furniture, and firepits, and they can accommodate larger RVs.

  • Clarksboro, NJ, 16 Miles to Stadium, $100 to $125 Per Night

Sun Retreats Hospitality Creek is situated around a large lake with a roped-off swimming area with fun water-based activities for the kids. There are also two pools and a wide variety of activities for kids and adults. The best RV sites here are the ones on the lake with peaceful and relaxing water views and lots of privacy, and a fair amount of shade.  The campground is not far from the big soccer matches, and it is also close to Atlantic City, where you can catch a show or head to the beach.

  • Williamstown, NJ, 28 Miles to Stadium, $150 to $262 Per Night

Philadelphia/West Chester KOAThis lovely little campground is nestled alongside the banks of the Brandywine River, making it a great spot for those who love to fish or kayak. It is within striking distance of the big games in Philadelphia and even closer to major attractions like Longwood Gardens and Winterthur--both Dupont properties that shouldn’t be missed when taking an RV trip in the area.

  • Coatesville, PA, 38 Miles to Stadium, $105 to $135 Per Night
