Many parks have water fill-up stations that remain open in winter. It’s also a good idea to make your reservations in advance to ensure that the park of interest to you has time to plow your campsite, if needed.

Colonial Mast Campground in Naples, ME: Winter guests at this park can snowmobile right from their campsite or spend the day ice fishing or cross country skiing on the lake or downhill ski at nearby Shawnee Mountain. The park, which is located about 2.5 hours north of Boston, also offers a swimming pool and hot tub that are open in winter.

Flagstaff / KOA Holiday

Flagstaff / KOA Holiday in Flagstaff, AZ: This campground is open year-round and can serve as a base camp for trips to the Arizona Snowbowl, a popular ski resort on the west slope of Mount Humphries, the tallest mountain in Arizona. The campground has RV sites as well as park model rentals. Amenities include a camp store and electric bicycle rentals.

Mammoth Mountain RV Park & Campground

Mammoth Mountain RV Park & Campground in Mammoth Lakes, CA: This campground is just under five miles from Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort and 22 miles from June Mountain Ski Area in June Lake. The campground features plowed RV sites with electric hookups as well as a water filling station and dump station.  Other amenities include restrooms with hot showers and an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Activities in the Mammoth Lakes area include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling.

Mt. Hood Village RV Resort

Mt. Hood Village RV Resort in Welches, ORLocated outside of Portland, this resort is a popular winter basecamp, with Mount Hood Skibowl and Timberline Lodge just 13 miles away. Mount Hood Meadows ski resort is 25 miles away. This RV resort features both RV sites and park model RV rentals. Resort amenities include a fitness center, hiking and biking trails, and frontage along the Salmon River.

Muncie by RJourney

Muncie by RJourney in Anderson, IN: This campground can be used as a base camp for trips to Koteewi Run Snow Tubing, central Indiana’s only groomed snow-tubing hill. Riders can slide 700 feet down groomed lanes in snow tubes and then ride the tow line back to the top for another run. A water tank is available for RVers to fill up.

Park City RV Resort in Park City, UT: This park, which is owned by Roberts Resorts, is only minutes from three world-class ski resorts, including Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain, and Woodward Park City. Westerly RV Park in Durango, CO: This campground, which is across the street from Durango Hot Springs, offers sites for RVs and is often used as a base camp for skiers and snowboarders bound for Purgatory. Families also enjoy taking their kids on winter train rides on the historic Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad up to Cascade Canyon.
