Overview

Rodeos have been experiencing a recent surge in popularity, driven by popular culture hits such as Yellowstone, Beyonce’s platinum record Cowboy Carter and Pharrell William’s Wild West–inspired Louis Vuitton collection at Paris Fashion Week in 2024.

Campgrounds are also increasingly providing their guests with onsite entertainment, including rodeos.

Ready for an RV trip to watch this exciting sport? Here’s a closer look at rodeo entertainment that's offered at (or near) these campgrounds:

Brackenridge Recreation Complex & Campground (Edna, TX)

Brackenridge Recreation Complex is the home of two parks, Brackenridge Park and Campground and Texana Park and Campground, both of which are situated on beautiful Lake Texana. Guests are able to use the amenities at either park during their stay.

Brackenridge Park and Campground is situated on 240 acres overlooking Lake Texana; 134 campsites are available, along with miniature golf, hike and bike trails, and an equestrian trail. Likewise, Texana Park and Campground, is situated on 590 acres across from Brackenridge Park and the Main Event Center. It boasts 141 campsites, with a large day use area, and six miles of hike and bike nature trails.

This campground has several upcoming rodeo events that are hosted at the complex’s Event Center, including a "Co-ed for a Cause Rodeo Fundraiser for Texas Flood Victims!" on August 29-30, 2025. They also have upcoming Youth Rodeo Association events in September.

Wildhorse Resort & Casino RV Park (Pendleton, OR)

This campground could be a convenient base camp for attending the Pendleton Roundup, September 6-13. The weeklong rodeo celebration includes a parade, night shows, competitions with “Xtreme Bulls,” steer roping, team roping, breakaway roping, barrel racing and live music.

Additionally, there are full hook-ups available in 30 and 50 amps, as well as a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, laundry room, showers, restrooms, and WiFi.

Williams Rodeos (Williams, AZ)

The Jack Fuller Team Roping Event provides a great opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the Western experience. This event is typically held on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends. Additionally, the World Series of Team Roping Qualifier is scheduled for August 30 - September 1, 2025.

Camping is also available right at the rodeo grounds in Williams. This allows attendees to stay close to the action and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow rodeo enthusiasts throughout the event.

Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds (Hiawassee, GA)

The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds hosts the Hiawassee Pro Rodeo from August 30-31, 2025. This family-friendly event will entail horses, bulls, world class contestants from all over the United States and Canada, and top of the line specialty acts.

The fairgrounds also hosts 207 camping and RV sites, which are open year around and offer modern conveniences such as water, electricity, and WiFi.

Hughston's Cow Camp Rodeo (Bailey, MI)

This event features rustic, wide-open camping on over 450 acres of cattle pasture. RVers, who would be dry camping at this event, can choose their own spot in the pasture and enjoy a simple, spacious, and authentic Western living experience.

The N.C. State Fairgrounds (Raleigh, NC)

The James B. Hunt Horse Complex at the N.C. State Fairgrounds hosts over 80 equestrian events a year, including rodeos.

Additionally, the N.C. State Fair campground offers a perfect opportunity to explore the area. With 100 full-hookup sites, the location is open year-round with the exception of October. Water, sewer, WiFi, and electrical access are also available.

The National Finals Rodeo (Las Vegas, NV)

The National Finals Rodeo returns to the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas from December 4-13, 2025. This ten-day event is the ultimate showcase of rodeo talent, featuring the world's top cowboys and cowgirls competing in events like bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and more.

Camp near the action at Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam’s Town, which is close in proximity to the venue (16 minutes/ six miles). Amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub, and laundry facilities.
